About Seattle

The Host Committee is confident that you will enjoy the city of Seattle during the 2012 NASSM Annual Conference. Here you'll find a vibrant, sophisticated metropolis surrounded by pristine natural beauty and abundant recreation. Downtown Seattle is easily walkable and waiting to be explored. Shopping, dining, arts and visitor attractions are within steps of the Renaissance Hotel. We encourage you to be active and involved in the robust recreational culture offered in Seattle. The city is surrounded by pristine waterways, two mountain ranges and three national parks which will allow conference attendees to walk, hike, paddle, jog, and bike their way through Seattle! The city is also home to the University of Washington Huskies, Seattle Storm, Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Mariners, Seattle University Redhawks, and Seattle Pacific University Falcons. We hope you will get an opportunity to check out the rich athletic community within the city!

For those interested in extending their trip, to the west lies the only temperate rain forest in the continental U.S. and to the east, a world-class wine region. Vancouver, British Columbia is 2.5 hours north via car or train and Portland, Oregon can be reached in only 3 hours to the south!
