The NASSM Student Board would like to invite all faculty to participate in the 2020 NASSM Faculty-Student Mentor Initiative! Given the unique format of the 2020 NASSM Conference, the student-faculty mentor initiative will be held virtually, allowing mentorship pairs to arrange their own meeting(s) throughout the conference dates and beyond! We hope this flexible format will provide valuable networking and mentorship opportunities that will last beyond the 2020 conference dates.
The mentor initiative continues to be one of the most valuable NASSM student activities. Many students have commented on the benefits of the mentoring sessions including research collaboration, job search advice, and network expansion. These relationships continue to be vital to the growth of research and teaching in sport management and the Student Board greatly appreciates faculty's willingness to participate and contribute to student development through this initiative.
If you would like to participate in the initiative this year, please email Kerri Bodin at email@example.com and include your name, university, number of years working as a faculty member, research interests, and common courses taught by Sunday, April 19th. This information will be used to facilitate matching with a student whose interests are similar to your own.
Please consider participating in this great initiative! We welcome faculty mentors at all stages of their careers, as we have students with questions about a range of topics. If you would like to sign up or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Kerri Bodin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are looking forward to another great year of mentorship and networking!
